Just got off of a big and exhausting weeklong freelance job so now I'm taking a break and playing with some new ways to render my characters. This was a fun process and I think I'm going to explore it further. Also, poking at ants is how I spent most of my childhood summers.

Finished my 3rd exercise! It took about a week longer to finish than it should have but life has been busy lately. For this I just wanted to get a character moving around a little more. I think I'm going to step it up a notch in my next exercise.

A couple more character clean ups for Id and Ego. I'm back in the process of putting together a pitch bible for this idea along with trying to produce more animation, job hunt, and figure out my student loan situation. See you never, sleep.

Limitless Power

Finished my second exercise! I didn't really plan anything, just kind of ran with it. I guess this is what happens when I improvise. It was a lot of fun and I may clean it up and color it at some point as well as make a few minor tweaks. But for now it's back to animating.

So I haven't animated anything in a long time. Between job hunting, freelance work, and life I haven't had the energy to dedicate to doing what I came to LA to do in the first place. I'm changing that by doing a few quick exercises a week. Then I may start trying to put together some more complex pieces. We'll see what happens. To productiveness!!

Id and Ego break

Trying to get ready to go to Oklahoma for a week and finish a majority of my freelance. Ugggghhhh. Took an Id and Ego break. 

Late night sketching

Been hitting the sketchbook every day for the past few weeks and it feels gooooooood. It should go without saying but it's easy to forget that just sitting and drawing for yourself a bit every single day is therapy by itself. I'm trying to make a habit of it.

Haven't messed around with this idea in awhile and have been thinking about space a lot lately. I want to paint nebulas. And yes, saying that sentence out loud sounded much more nerdy than it did in my head. But I love space. It's full of things that are beautiful, wondrous, and mysterious all that the same time. I can't get enough of it.

So work seems to be drying up again.... NOT good considering I need to work to make money. And I need money to eat and stuff. But it has given me a little extra time to play. Which I will now continue to do. PEACE

Charlie Wax Sketches.

So I just watched the movie "From Paris, With Love" the other day and thought it was overall a pretty "meh" movie. But I did really love John Travolta's character in it. I wish I could see him in his own film without all the other crap I didn't really care about happening around him. Anyway, I sketched him for a minute while watching.
